Why did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) marry Aisha when she was nine years old, and what is the verse that proves her innocence, in order to refute the slanders of the people of innovation and the objections of the West regarding child marriage?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, contracted his marriage to Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, when she was six years old, and he consummated the marriage with her when she was nine years old, after she had grown and reached the age of menstruation and developed into beautiful youth. Aisha used to take pride in this. The marriage of young girls was known in the pre-Islamic era (Jahiliyyah) and was affirmed by Islam. Aisha was engaged before the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.

The proof of Aisha’s innocence, may Allah be pleased with her, regarding the slanderous accusation (Hadith al-Ifk) is the Almighty's saying: (Indeed, those who came with the slander are a group among you. Do not think it bad for you; rather it is good for you. For every person among them is what he earned of sin, and he who took upon himself the greater portion of it - for him is a tremendous punishment) {An-Nur:11}. The subsequent verses highlighted her innocence and repeatedly clarified the falsehood of the fabricators, Allah's judgment of their lies, and His warning to whoever took the major part in it. They also clarified the necessity of having good suspicions and the certainty that it was a manifest slander and a grave calumny.
