If the wife is coerced into intercourse with a religiously valid coercion, and she becomes certain that her fetus will be harmed, then her fast is not invalidated and nothing is required of her. However, if she was not coerced, or if she could have resisted, then she has sinned and must make up that day. There is a difference of opinion regarding the necessity of expiation for her; according to the view that it is obligatory, the expiation is to free a slave. If that is not possible, then she must fast for two consecutive months. If she is unable to do so, then she must feed sixty poor people.
