Is it obligatory for menstruating women, travelers, and women in postpartum bleeding, if the impediment to their fasting is removed during the day in Ramadan, to abstain from eating until sunset, by analogy with a child who reaches puberty or a disbeliever who embraces Islam during the day in Ramadan?

Scholars have differed concerning those whose excuse is removed during the daytime in Ramadan (definition), such as one who embraces Islam, or recovers consciousness, or becomes pure. Should they fast for the remainder of the day or not? The preponderant opinion is that they are not obliged to fast for the remainder of the day. They also differed as to whether they should make up the days of Ramadan they missed, or the day their excuse was removed. The preponderant opinion is that there is no make-up for the disbeliever, the insane, and the child, unlike the menstruating woman, the woman in postpartum bleeding, the sick, the traveler, and the unconscious person if they were unconscious for the entire day; these are obliged to make up the fast.
