Are deceased parents held accountable for their son's transgression?

It is part of Allah Almighty's justice that He does not punish anyone for the sin of another, as He states: "And every soul earns not [anything] except what is for it, and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another." So, a father is not punished for the sin of his child; rather, he is punished only for his own sins, including his negligence in raising his children and failing to advise them.
