Is it permissible to name one's son "Joseph," knowing that it is the English name for the Prophet Yusuf, out of a desire to avoid discrimination and a fondness for the name?

It appears that this name has diverged from its origin and become widely known among non-Muslims; therefore, it is not permissible to use it for naming. Among the regulations for prohibited names is naming with foreign names specific to disbelievers.
