Supplication in the aforementioned instances is permissible and recommended, as long as it does not involve aggression, sin, or breaking ties of kinship, whether it pertains to worldly matters or otherwise. Mukhtasar Khalil and Al-Mudawwanah both mention the permissibility of supplicating for all worldly and otherworldly needs during prayer. It is recommended to supplicate after prayer for whatever one wishes, concerning both worldly and otherworldly matters. Supplications related to the Hereafter are better, and supplications authentically transmitted from the Prophet, peace be upon him, are better than others. Specifying the aforementioned times for supplication is not an innovation, but rather recommended. However, one should not specify a particular supplication without evidence, as that is considered an additive innovation (bid‘ah idafiyyah).
