The question

Is the supplication, "O Allah, grant a perfect prayer and a complete salutation upon our master Muhammad, by whom knots are untied, hardships are relieved, needs are fulfilled, desires and good ends are attained, and clouds are watered by his noble countenance; and may Allah's prayer and salutation be upon our master Muhammad and his family," sound, and does it have a special virtue when repeated 111 times?

The answer

The "Salat al-Nariya" (Fiery Prayer) has not been authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and it contains false meanings that contravene Islamic law. Indeed, the One who unties knots and relieves distress is Allah alone. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, clarified how to send blessings upon him, saying: "O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious." Therefore, what is called the "Salat al-Nariya" is not valid, and it is an invention of the ignorant and innovators.
