What is the ruling on working as an accountant in an office that audits the accounts of various companies, knowing that the appointment may be in a department that audits only industrial and contracting companies, or companies that deal in alcohol or finance Jews, or in a department that audits all types of mixed companies?

It is permissible to work in auditing the accounts of permissible companies, such as industrial and contracting firms, even if the office audits other accounts. However, auditing the accounts of liquor companies or usurious banks is not permissible because it involves assisting in sin, as Allah Almighty says: "And do not cooperate in sin and aggression." As for the department of mixed companies, it is permissible to work there on the condition of auditing only the accounts of permissible companies.
