What is the ruling of Islamic law on giving a grade other than zero to a student who did not answer the exam questions, based on the principal's request?

If the school regulations allow the teacher to award points to students based on their personal discretion, there is no harm in giving the student one or more points, even if she did not answer, especially if she is diligent and has gone through difficult circumstances. However, if the school system stipulates that grades must be awarded based solely on the answer, it is not permissible to give the student any points, because she did not answer. Likewise, it is not permissible to award points to a student who does not deserve them, as this is an injustice to the diligent student.
