Is it permissible to suffice in argumentation with the Hadith: "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him speak good" without completing "or remain silent"?

It is permissible to restrict oneself to a specific portion of a hadith if the benefit from it is achieved and the omitted part does not affect the meaning. Al-Suyuti mentioned in "Tadrib al-Rawi" that scholars differed regarding the permissibility of abbreviating hadith, and the correct view is one of detail: it is permissible for a knowledgeable scholar, provided that the omitted part is distinct and unrelated to the transmitted part, so that the meaning is not distorted nor the implication altered.
