Is the mother of the questioner and his brother obliged to pay rent to the remaining heirs for their residence in the building of their deceased father?

The estate is all the money left by the deceased after preparing the body for burial, paying off debts, and executing the will. It includes the house he lived in and any other properties. The estate is divided as Allah has commanded, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever leaves behind wealth, it is for his heirs." The wife's and son's use of the apartments was temporary during the father's lifetime, as it was part of the obligatory maintenance due from him. After the father's death, the entire estate must be distributed according to Islamic inheritance laws, either by dividing the physical property itself or by the building remaining the property of all heirs. In the latter case, both the wife and the son would then pay rent for their apartments, which would be added to the building's income and distributed among the heirs. They are not required to pay for the period they resided there before the father's death.
