The inquirer must take the initiative to pronounce the two testimonies (Shahadatayn) and embrace Islam. The marriage contract remains valid and enduring if the wife is Christian, because it is permissible for a Muslim to marry a woman from the People of the Book initially, and the continuation of this marriage is more deserving. One must strive to invite the wife to Islam and raise the children upon it, for there is a great reward in that.
