Did the Prophet (peace be upon him) pray upon himself and was he commanded to do so? And did he recite the final Tashahhud and the Salat al-Ibrahimiyyah in his prayer?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to invoke blessings upon himself in the tashahhud and in his sermons, and he taught his Companions how to invoke blessings upon him. Scholars have differed regarding whether the address "O you who have believed, invoke blessings upon him" includes him. Those who believe it includes him say that he used to invoke blessings upon himself to fulfill his Lord's command. Those who do not believe it includes him say that he used to invoke blessings upon himself in the tashahhud and for teaching purposes. Al-Suyuti, in Al-Itqan, mentioned three opinions regarding whether the Prophet is included in the address "O you who have believed."
