What is the ruling on communication between a young man and a young woman via the internet, messages, and voice calls, solely for the purpose of reassurance, with an intention of future marriage? Is this considered impermissible (haram) or permissible (halal)?

Relationships between young men and women in the name of "love" and the desire for marriage are a gateway to evil and corruption that are not sanctioned by Sharia, and their consequences are often dire. If a man's heart becomes attached to a woman without his seeking it, then the proper course of action is for him to propose to her guardian. If he is rejected, he must turn away from her. If marriage is not possible, then all ties with her must be severed, because continuing the relationship is a clear corruption. Strive to remove this attachment from your heart, and occupy yourself with what benefits you in your religion and your worldly life, especially since you will be questioned on the Day of Judgment about your life and your youth, as stated in the Hadith of Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him).
