Satan flees upon hearing the call to prayer (adhan) and moves away, as stated in the Prophet's (PBUH) hadith: "When the call to prayer is made, Satan turns his back and passes wind so that he may not hear the adhan." It is recommended to raise one's voice during the adhan so that Satan moves away to a distance where he cannot hear the voice of the muezzin. This departure continues as long as the adhan is heard and ceases with the end of the adhan, unless there is another reason for expelling Satan.
