Is it permissible in Islamic law to prevent the procreation of a child from the marriage of two individuals with mild intellectual disabilities, out of fear of giving birth to disabled children or of being unable to raise them?

Fatwas No. 50800 and 39081 address the ruling and conditions regarding the use of contraceptives. It should be known that intellectual disability does not necessarily mean giving birth to a disabled child, for Allah is capable of bringing forth the sound from the disabled. As for custody (hadanah), it is undertaken by the guardians if the parents are not qualified for it.
