Is phone sex with a traveling husband forbidden (haram)? Is misleading him into believing in sexual responsiveness despite a lack of desire considered a lie? Is ghusl (ritual purification) required after a phone conversation if no orgasm occurs?

"It is not appropriate for a married couple to discuss matters of intimacy over the phone due to the insecurity of the medium and the ease of eavesdropping and recording. This type of conversation belongs in privacy. Some scholars interpreted 'garment' in the verse: {They are a garment for you, and you are a garment for them} as 'covering' or 'concealment.'

If the wife asks for something and does not do what her husband requested, the general rule is that lying is forbidden. However, if telling her the truth would lead to harm, such as the husband's anger and aversion, then there is no sin upon her, Allah willing, if she lies. The preferable approach is to use ambiguity (tawriyah) and allusive speech (ma'arid), because lying is permissible in speech that brings love and affection between spouses and does not result in harm or the loss of a right. The Prophet, peace be upon him, permitted lying between a man and his wife, a woman talking to her husband, and in reconciling people.

Purity (tahara) is not nullified merely by speaking, but it is nullified by the discharge of semen (mani) or pre-seminal fluid (madhi). It is not permissible for either of them to masturbate."
