What is the ruling on non-attracting adornment for a girl when she goes out to university?

It is not permissible for a Muslim woman to display her adornment to anyone other than her husband and her mahrams, based on the Almighty's saying: "And not display their adornment except that which is apparent thereof." Scholars have differed concerning the meaning of "that which is apparent thereof," and the most authoritative opinion is that it refers to clothes. Accordingly, it is not permissible for a Muslim woman to adorn herself when going out to public places such as universities.
