There is no sin in concealing worldly knowledge unless it leads to a lack of those who fulfill communal obligations (fard al-kifaya) that people need, such as medicine, engineering, and agriculture. In that case, it becomes obligatory to impart it to those by whom the sin would be lifted. It is preferable to share this knowledge with those who can benefit from it, out of benevolence.
