Is it obligatory to teach colleagues at work what has been acquired of knowledge and experience after much effort and toil, or is this knowledge the right of whoever strived for it, knowing that some colleagues are Muslim and some are non-Muslim, due to the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever conceals knowledge that he knows will be bridled with a bridle of fire on the Day of Resurrection"?

There is no sin in concealing worldly knowledge unless it leads to a lack of those who fulfill communal obligations (fard al-kifaya) that people need, such as medicine, engineering, and agriculture. In that case, it becomes obligatory to impart it to those by whom the sin would be lifted. It is preferable to share this knowledge with those who can benefit from it, out of benevolence.
