Is it permissible to corner the jinn that possesses or indwells a body?

It is permissible to corner the jinn that possesses a human by admonishing it, commanding it, forbidding it, and warning it that if it does not leave, it will be struck, and this may lead to its death. The original ruling is the permissibility of admonishing, warning, and expelling theinn, even if it leads to its death, if its harm cannot be repelled except by that. This is supported by the fact that ruqyah (exorcism) is not restricted to specific texts, and it has been narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Present your ruqyahs to me; there is no harm in ruqyahs as long as they do not contain shirk (polytheism)." It is obligatory to corner the jinn before killing or burning it, just as a human is asked to repent before being killed; killing jinn unjustly is not permissible. There is no harm in killing or burning it if it does not leave except by that.
