The method of performing the regular prayers according to the Shafi'i school: The minimum perfect number is ten rak'ahs: two rak'ahs before Dhuhr, two rak'ahs after it, two rak'ahs after Maghrib, two rak'ahs after Isha, and two rak'ahs before Fajr. The most perfect number is eighteen rak'ahs: two rak'ahs before Fajr, two rak'ahs after Maghrib, two rak'ahs after Isha, four before Dhuhr and four after it, and four before Asr. One makes the after every two rak'ahs in the four-rak'ah Sunnah prayers.
