Are the people of 'Ad the builders of the pyramids?

The people of 'Ad lived in Al-Ahqaf in the southern Arabian Peninsula, near Hadramawt, and they did not inhabit Egypt. As for Pharaoh, "Dhul-Awtad" (Pharaoh of the Stakes/Pegs), he was described with "Awtad" either because his kingdom contained the pyramids built by his ancestors, or due to his might and tyranny, or because the pyramids resemble stakes, and they stand in Egypt. This is further indicated by the Quran's description of Pharaoh and his people as masters of construction and architecture. It is not appropriate to preoccupy oneself with these matters, as they bring no benefit in religious or worldly affairs.
