When does a need take on the status of a necessity?

A need is considered as a necessity, whether it is general or specific. A need is also considered as such if its absence would cause hardship and difficulty. Therefore, ameliorative matters should not be treated as necessities. For an accurate determination of the type of interest (necessity, need, ameliorative), one must refer to well-grounded, competent, and pious scholars.
