What is the ruling on a broker or intermediary working in a sales contract that contains an usurious condition, such as a penalty clause for installments?
If you are certain or highly assume that the contract contains an usurious or prohibited condition, then it is not permissible to mediate in it or assist in its completion; as Allah Almighty says: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression." And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed the one who consumes usury, its giver, its scribe, and its two witnesses, and they are all equal in sin. And whoever seeks the lawful will find it; as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, the Holy Spirit inspired in my heart that no soul will die until it completes its term and receives its full provision. So fear Allah, and be good in seeking."
