Is the Hadith that states, "The two people most severely punished are: a woman who disobeys her husband..." authentic, and is it conceivable that this punishment would be severe for a woman who disobeys her husband in a simple matter, while an oppressive husband would not be among those most severely punished? And is the meaning of a woman's prayer not being accepted if her husband is displeased with her or if she disobeys him specific to the matter of marital relations, or is it general, even if the reason is trivial?

A believer must refer to the texts of the Shari'ah and submit to its rulings. The guardianship (qawamah) of a man over a woman is one of arrangement and management, and Allah has made it obligatory for a wife to obey her husband in what is good. The Lawgiver is the one who clarified the grave sin of a wife's disobedience to her husband, and it is not permissible to object to the Shari'ah in its rulings. A wife's obedience to her husband is not absolute, but rather restricted to matters pertaining to marriage and its related aspects. The Shari'ah does not favor one gender over another, nor does it follow people's whims in its rulings. There is also a severe warning for men if they transgress the limits in their treatment of women. A Muslim should not preoccupy himself with doubts and notions that might lead to rejecting any part of the Shari'ah. He must submit to Allah's rulings whether he comprehends their wisdom or not.
