Is what is mentioned in the exegesis of His saying, the Most High, "And the flesh of fowl from what they desire" (Al-Waqi'ah: 21) – that the verse refers to the bird flu disease at the end of time, and that desiring the flesh of fowl in Paradise is evidence of its absence in this world – correct?

A Muslim should learn the Qur'an and teach it, and should strive to understand its meanings and derive its jurisprudence, without forcing the Qur'an to bear unconfirmed interpretations. The Qur'an did not mention the extinction of birds, and the longing of the people of Paradise for bird meat is not a text indicating their absence in this world, just as their desire for women in Paradise does not mean that they did not marry in this world. Their desire for women is indicated by the fact that each man among them will be given the strength of a hundred men in intercourse and desire. The people of Paradise will desire all kinds of meats and foods, not just bird meat, in fulfillment of His (the Almighty's) saying: "And therein is whatever the souls desire" and His saying: "And We provided them with fruit and meat from what they desire."
