Is it permissible to pay for the educational expenses of some relatives from Zakat money, knowing that their parents receive suitable salaries and have debts, and who is most deserving of Zakat, and is it permissible to give sums of money to the married and well-off daughters of a deceased sister?

The recipients of zakat are specified by religious law in the words of the Almighty: "Indeed, [prescribed] charitable donations are only to be given to the poor and the needy, and to those who work to collect them, and to those whose hearts are to be reconciled, and to free slaves, and to the debtors, and in the cause of Allah, and to the wayfarer; a duty imposed by Allah. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise." If the questioner's relatives are poor or needy, then they have a prior claim to zakat. However, if they are well-off and have suitable incomes, then it is not permissible to give zakat to them.
