How can one avoid the discord stirred by calls to return to the Quran and Sunnah, while abolishing the madhahib in the name of the Pious Predecessors, which divide Muslims, especially the youth?
Calling for adherence to the Qur’an and according to the understanding of theelf is not a fitnah (tribulation), rather the fitnah lies in not calling for it, and contradicting the command of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, causes fitnah and a painful torment. The call to the methodology of the Salaf does not negate the four madhhabs, for their imams are from the Salaf and their statements are considered. However, if the evidence from the Qur’an and Sunnah becomes clear, one does not deviate from it to the statement of anyone. There is no contradiction between calling to the methodology of the Salaf and acting upon the four madhhabs. The fault comes from incorrect practices of da'wah (Islamic propagation) and ignorance of the status of scholars and bigotry towards the opinions of men. This is remedied by scholars gathering to advise the youth and enlighten them.
