Does the ruling of suckling apply to a girl the same as to boys, such that a girl who has been suckled five satisfying times or more by a woman while under two years of age becomes a daughter to the wet nurse and her husband, and a sister to their children?

Fosterage through suckling includes both males and females. If a female suckles from a woman five known times, she becomes a daughter to her and her husband, and a sister to all the suckling woman's sons and daughters. What is forbidden by lineage is also forbidden by suckling, as stated in the hadith of 'Uqbah ibn al-Harith: "And how [could he marry her] when she claimed to have suckled both of you?" So he forbade him from her.
