What is the ruling on installing and watching children's channels that display young girls in an alluring manner, with the presence of a daff (tambourine) or sound effects in the anasheed (Islamic chants), and the possibility of muting them?

The responsibility of parents towards their children is immense, for as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Each of you is a guardian and is responsible for his flock." Allah the Almighty has commanded to protect one's family and children from the Fire, and has forbidden neglecting them.

Part of this responsibility is to prevent anything that affects their religion and character. This includes some children's cartoon channels that contain negative aspects and corruptions, such as: a. The use of music, which is forbidden. b. Dancing and swaying, which are things that have become unusual. c. The appearance of some immodestly dressed women, which incites fitna (temptation/strife) and lust.

We have seen the negative impact of these channels on children; they have become infatuated with them and they have become their main preoccupation. It would be better to occupy them with what benefits them in their religion and their worldly life. Although some of these channels try to appease parties by offering a "without rhythm" option, other violations still need to be addressed.

It is essential to consider children when watching television and to regulate their time, dedicating time for prayer, time for memorizing the Quran, and time for beneficial reading. It is permissible to intersperse this with some time for recreation by watching serious Islamic cartoon channels. However, to spend all the time following and watching those channels is a negative aspect and a departure from the most important objective in raising and nurturing a child.
