The Arabic language holds great merit, and Allah chose it for His religion and His final revelation. It is the emblem of Islam and its people.

Ridicule of the Arabic language falls into two categories: 1. If the ridiculer is aware of its religious status, then their action is forbidden and may amount to disbelief if it extends to the Qur'an, Sunnah, or legal rulings, for jesting with disbelief is disbelief itself. 2. If the ridiculer is unaware of its religious status, then they are a wrongdoer and mistaken, and they must cease this false statement.
