What is the formula for glorifying and exalting God that is preferred for use at the beginning of a supplication to make it powerful and answered?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Beginning a supplication with praise and glorification of Allah is a good deed and one of the reasons for its acceptance. Ibn Al-Qayyim states that a supplication is rarely rejected if it combines presence of heart, coincides with a time of response, includes humility and pleading, along with facing the Qiblah, being in a state of purity, raising the hands, beginning with praise and glorification of Allah, then sending blessings upon the Prophet, offering repentance and seeking forgiveness, persistent pleading, and seeking intercession with Him through His Names, Attributes, and Oneness, and giving charity. And by whatever form you praise Allah Almighty, the intended purpose is achieved.
