Is repentance for all disbelief sufficient—even that which one cannot recall—to ward off whisperings (waswasah)?

Repentance from disbelief of all kinds is valid and sufficient, even if the servant does not remember some of what he committed. Repentance from all sins in general is sufficient, and Islam erases previous misdeeds, as Allah Almighty says: {Say to those who disbelieve, if they cease, what has passed will be forgiven them}. And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Did you not know, O Amr, that Islam demolishes what came before it?" Repentance erases all sins, before or after the whisperings [of Shaytan], based on the Almighty's saying: {Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah . Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."}
