What is the meaning of atheism concerning the Most High God's names?

Linguistically, ilhad (atheism/deviation) means inclination. Terminologically, it is the inclination of Allah's Names and Attributes away from what must be believed concerning them. It is of several types:

1. Denying any of the Names or Attributes that have been indicated, such as denying the Name "Ar-Rahman" (The Most Gracious) or negating the attribute from the Name, as in their saying: "Merciful without mercy."

2. Naming Allah with what He has not named Himself, such as the philosophers' saying "the active cause" or the Christians' saying "the Father."

3. Believing that Allah's Names indicate the descriptions of creatures and lead to anthropomorphism, which is disbelief because it contradicts His saying, the Most High: (There is nothing like Him, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.)

4. Deriving the names of idols from the Names of Allah the Most High, such as deriving "Al-Lat" from "Al-Ilah" (The God) and "Al-Uzza" from "Al-Aziz" (The All-Mighty).
