This man is not a relative of the questioner, but rather a relative of his wife. The ties of kinship between the wife and this man are permissible. If something impermissible occurs from this man unintentionally, he should be alerted and guided to the ruling. There is no need to cut ties with him unless cutting ties leads to an estrangement of more than three nights, in which case it becomes forbidden. However, if he insists on this action, he must be prevented from it by all possible means, including preventing the wife from meeting him. In this case, the questioner may shun this man and cut ties with him if shunning him would deter him.
