Is the opinion of the majority regarding the ruling on the transitional takbirat correct, or is what the Hanbalis have adopted, that they are obligatory, more sound?

Scholars differed regarding the transitional takbīrāt (saying "Allahu Akbar") between obligation and recommendation due to their differing understanding of the apparent contradiction between the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) verbal and practical ahadith. Some made them obligatory, adhering to his actions (peace and blessings be upon him) and his saying: "Pray as you have seen me praying." Others deemed them recommended, arguing with the hadith of the one who prayed badly, where the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) only commanded him with the takbīrat al-ihram (the opening takbir). For the person afflicted with obsessive thoughts, it is permissible to adopt the view of the majority, which is that they are recommended and not obligatory, as a تسهيل (facilitation) for them.
