Which is more important for a Muslim: obedience to parents or working for the Ummah, especially when the husband chooses to study religion but his parents object to that?

Allah has enjoined obedience to parents and forbidden their disobedience. However, working for Islam is obligatory upon a Muslim according to their capacity, and a husband may be required to stay and serve the Muslims. Therefore, a husband is not obligated to return to his country and abandon da'wah if this conflicts with a general benefit for Muslims; because "Obedience is only in what is right and lawful." He can obey his father and return to his country if there is someone who can take his place in working for Islam, and if the need for working for Islam in his home country is greater, or if the current environment does not help him obey Allah and raise his children.
