What is the ruling on zakat on chopped and green corn used as livestock feed?

If the crop is minced before the grain hardens, there is no on it, because the time zakat becomes obligatory is when the grain hardens or the fruit ripens, as Ibn Qudamah stated. Therefore, whatever is consumed from the crop before this stage is not subject to zakat.
