What is the ruling on a woman going to the public bathhouse, knowing that the bath in her home is cold?

If a woman needs to enter a public bath due to the necessity of ritual bathing (ghusl) and the coldness of the water at home, there is no harm in it, provided she observes the Islamic guidelines of covering her awrah (private parts) and lowering her gaze. It is disliked for women to enter public baths except for an excuse such as menstruation, post-natal bleeding, illness, or the need for ritual bathing when it cannot be performed at home. This is based on the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "The land of the non-Arabs will be opened for you, and you will find baths there. So prevent your women [from entering them], except for a menstruating woman or a woman in post-natal bleeding." And it is narrated from Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, when a woman removes her clothes in other than her husband’s house, she has torn the veil between her and Allah, the Exalted and Most High."
