The answer

A father should choose a good name for his son and avoid ugly and forbidden names, because a name indicates its bearer. Naming a newborn "Muhammad the Messenger" or "Prophet of Allah" is forbidden, because this description is exclusive to the Messenger (peace be upon him) alone, and naming someone else with it is considered one of the most untruthful names. This is what Ibn al-Qayyim held, and al-Buhuti agreed with him, justifying it by stating that these descriptions are only befitting of the Prophet (peace be upon him).
