Is it obligatory to perform the prayer at the beginning of its time, or is it permissible to delay it due to a need or for no particular reason? And what is the correct opinion regarding this matter between the sayings of Sheikh Nasr Farid Wasil and Sheikh Al-Uthaymeen?

There is no known precedent for the claim that prayer is obligatory at the very beginning of its prescribed time, except in cases of necessity. Rather, scholars have unanimously agreed that performing the prayer at any point within its designated time fulfills the obligation and discharges one's responsibility. This is because it is a "wājib muwassaʿ" (a duty with an extended timeframe); thus, whoever dies during its period before its time narrows does not die as a disobedient person. Some scholars have made it obligatory to intend to perform it at the beginning of its time for those who wish to delay it. Similarly, one must hasten to perform it if one anticipates an impediment, such as a woman who expects to menstruate. Hastening to perform the prayer at the beginning of its time is better and carries a greater reward.
