Is it obligatory to abide by the company policy that prohibits discussion of religious and political matters among employees, or is it permissible to invite non-Muslims at work to Islam even if they are not bothered by it?
A company has the right to prevent its employees from engaging in activities that distract them from work, such as religious and political discussions. The employee must adhere to this, because work time is for performing the contracted tasks. Allah has commanded the fulfillment of contracts: (O you who have believed, fulfill [all] contracts) (Al-Ma'idah: 1), and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Muslims are bound by their conditions." It is permissible to point out an error or offer advice, provided that it does not turn into a time-wasting discussion. The employee is required to perform their work, and work time is a trust. They should not be preoccupied with matters outside of their work. Whoever wishes to engage in da'wah (inviting to Islam) should do so after work hours.
