There is no harm in working for someone of a different creed and taking payment for it. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and his companions interacted with the Jews in Medina through permissible financial transactions. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, died while his shield was mortgaged to a Jew. Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, worked for a Jew to draw water from a well in exchange for dates. A financial transaction that is valid between Muslims is also valid between a Muslim and a non-Muslim.
