What is the meaning of "صعيدًا جرزًا" (saʿīdan juruzan) in Surat Al-Kahf?

The Almighty Allah's saying in Surat Al-Kahf: "And verily, We shall turn all that is on it into a barren, dry earth (صَعِيداً جُرُزاً)" means that everything on Earth will perish and vanish, leaving no trees or plants. This is similar to His saying: "Do they not see that We drive the water to the barren land (الْجُرُزِ) and bring forth thereby crops whereof eat their cattle and themselves? Will they not then see?" So, no one should be deluded by the adornments of this world and become complacent with them.
