What is the ruling on reciting the Qur’an in a moderate voice between the Adhan and the Iqamah?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Reciting the Quran between the Adhan and Iqamah is a commendable act, but it is not permissible to do so loudly if it causes disturbance to those praying, reciting, or engaging in remembrance in the mosque. Therefore, the reciter must lower their voice to prevent causing harm. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade raising one's voice with the Quran if it harms others, as stated in the Hadith of Abu Sa’id: "All of you are privately conversing with your Lord, so do not raise your voices against each other with the Quran." In another narration: "So do not harm one another, and do not raise your voices against one another in recitation."
