Which Quranic surahs mention magic, and what are the most appropriate ways to identify magical acts and treat them with the Quran?
Magic is a reality and has an effect on the enchanted person. It has been mentioned in the Holy Quran in several surahs. As for the methods of identifying magical acts, if the intention is to know the symptoms of magic on the enchanted person, then these include: a husband disliking his wife or vice versa, disliking work after being active, extreme emotional distress and agitation when verses about magic are recited, and crying and screaming.
However, if the intention is to know the location of the magic or its perpetrator, this is something that cannot be known. Anyone who claims to know this is either a liar or someone who deals with jinn, and it is not permissible to resort to them. For the treatment of magic with the Quran, please refer to Fatwa No. 32512.
