What is the ruling on wearing military insignia that bears the image of an animal, if wearing it is a military order?

All praise is due to Allah, and thereafter:
It is not permissible for a Muslim to wear anything that contains images of living beings, whether human, bird, or animal. There is no distinction in this regard between military and civilian personnel. There is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator.
If a Muslim military person is unable to avoid wearing prohibited images, we hope that there will be no sin upon him for wearing what is indispensable from the military uniform, because the benefit of the existence of the army and the presence of righteous people within it takes precedence over averting the harm of carrying images.
