What is the ruling on continuing a marriage to a non-Muslim wife, from whom you have a child whom you are both raising with an Islamic upbringing, despite 12 years having passed since the marriage, and she refuses to embrace Islam?

Guidance leading to success (hidayat al-tawfiq) is solely in the hands of Allah. It is incumbent upon the Muslim to exert effort in clarifying and guiding towards good through excellent conduct, kind words, gifts, and supplication, because guiding a man is better than red camels. Do not despair or grieve over the lack of guidance, and exert your utmost effort. Raise your son well. We do not advise divorcing her as long as she does not prevent you from raising your son upon Islam, for divorce might lead to the loss of her guidance and the ruin of your son. Wait until your son grows up so he can make his own decision.
