Is it permissible to wear socks with a unicorn drawn on them and pray in them?

The default ruling is that it is impermissible to wear clothing that contains images of animate beings, whether during prayer or otherwise. However, some scholars have explicitly stated that it is permissible to wear clothing that contains images of animate beings if these images are in a place that is used as a mat, or stepped upon, or leaned against, such as socks and pillows. Therefore, it is permissible to wear socks that contain images during prayer and otherwise. Nevertheless, it is more cautious to avoid purchasing clothes with images of animate beings in the future.
