Does raising the hands in prayer in the four instances apply to both obligatory and supererogatory prayers equally?

Voluntary (nafila) prayers are similar to obligatory (fard) prayers in their rulings concerning pillars, recommended acts, and nullifiers. It is recommended to perform voluntary prayers in sets of two rak'ahs, based on the hadith (definition): "The prayer of the night and day is two by two." However, if one prays four rak'ahs continuously, it is permissible. Regarding the first tashahhud (definition), it is recommended by some scholars to raise the hands when standing for the third rak'ah.
